AAAS/NIH Science Policy Fellowships: All applicants must have a PhD, an MD or an equivalent doctoral-level degree by the application deadline (January 10, 2004). Prospective Fellows must demonstrate exceptional competence in a specific area of science; be cognizant of and demonstrate sensitivity toward policy issues; and, perhaps most importantly, have a strong interest and some experience in applying his/her professional knowledge toward the development of health policy. Fellows are expected to be critical thinkers who are articulate, adaptable, and able to work with a variety of people with different professional backgrounds Applications are invited from individuals in any physical, biological, or behavioral science, medicine, any field of engineering or any relevant interdisciplinary field. Federal employees are not eligible.

American Institute for Economic Research Fellowships: Opportunity for researchers to spend a summer (or more) at the Institute pursuing their chosen course of research. The Institute is an independent, nonprofit research organization dedicated to scientific inquiry into economic problems and to the education of the general public through wide dissemination of its research results. Candidates must have strong writing skills, and the ideal candidate will be able to communicate research findings to a general readership. Bosch, Robert Foundation Fellowship Program: The program strives to provide young American professionals (23-34) with executive level internships in the federal government and private sectors in Germany. Brookings Institution: Research Fellowships in Governmental Studies: Annual fellowship program to provide one year of residence at the Brookings Institution (Washington, D.C.) for doctoral candidates whose dissertation topics are directly related to public policy issues.
