Philosophy
American School Of Classical Studies at Athens: Postdoctoral scholars and professionals in relevant fields who are U.S. citizens or foreign nationals who have lived in the U.S. for the three years immediately preceding the application deadline. Applicants must have completed their professional training but do not have to hold the Ph.D. Areas of interest include: history, philosophy, language, literature, art and archaeology of Greece and the Greek world, from pre-Hellenic times to the present.

Franklin Research Grants: Applicants are expected to have a doctorate, or to have published work of doctoral character and quality. Pre-doctoral graduate students are not eligible, but the Society is particularly interested in supporting the work of young scholars who have recently received their PhDs. American citizens and residents of the United States may use their Franklin awards at home or abroad. Foreign nationals must use their Franklin awards for research in the United States. Applicants who have received Franklin grants may reapply after an interval of two years. Institutions are not eligible to apply.

Institute for Humane Studies Summer Graduate Research Fellowships: Graduate students who share an interest in scholarly research in the classical liberal tradition have the opportunity to work on a thesis chapter or a paper of publishable quality and to participate in interdisciplinary seminars under the guidance of a faculty supervisor.

Religion and Liberty Fellowship Program: Provides academic fellowships to students who show outstanding promise in integrating religious ideas with core principles of the classical liberal tradition, which include: the recognition of human rights and dignity, the protection of rights through the rule of law, and freedom in economic and political life. Eligibility: Graduate students in theology, philosophy, religion, economics, or related fields; pursuing a degree at any accredited domestic or international institution; strong academic performance, demonstrated interest in the intersection of religious and classical liberal ideas; potential to contribute to the advancement of a free and virtuous society.

Spencer Foundation Dissertation Fellowship Award: Although the dissertation topic must concern education, graduate study may be in any academic discipline or professional field. In the past, fellowships have been awarded to candidates in anthropology, architecture, art history, economics, education, history, linguistics, literature, philosophy, political science, public health, psychology, religion, and sociology, but eligibility is not restricted to these academic areas. Candidates should be interested in pursuing further research in education once the doctorate is attained.
