For International Students

Please read carefully the graduate admission information. In most cases, the information found there is applicable to international students. You'll find exceptions and additional information noted below.

Application Fee of $70
Your application will not be processed without payment of the application fee. Acceptable online payment methods include credit cards and e-checks.

College Transcripts
Submit official academic records (transcripts or mark-sheets) for each year of postsecondary education (college or university), as well as official copies of degrees awarded. Copies of credentials must be validated by a school administrative officer, such as a registrar or an official of the issuing body, and must be attached to a certified English translation.

Evidence of English Proficiency
Applicants who are not native speakers of English are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum score of 550 points on the written exam, 213 on the computerized exam, or 79-80 on the internet-based exam is required. Remember to enter the Tufts University code number of 3901 (or 3794 for the School of the Museum of Fine Arts) to ensure that the score report is sent to the appropriate office. Please note: Student copies or photocopies of TOEFL scores are not accepted.

You can get application forms and information about testing dates for the TOEFL from many U.S. consulates, USIA Centers, and TOEFL centers overseas, or by writing to:
